The New Quo Foundation
a nationwide movement of storytelling events that unite people on their stories of courage
We are building a nationwide movement countering polarization and isolation through free, community-led storytelling events and original media where people share true stories of courage. Why? Because research shows rallying around a shared value, like true stories of courage, unites people across any background, and models how to build a better future.
Everyone has a story of courage—standing up for beliefs, choosing authenticity, fighting injustice, finding resilience through setbacks, and so much more. At Change My Mind events, strangers arrive, hear true stories of personal courage from diverse perspectives, share their own, and leave feeling seen, heard, connected, and hopeful.

Our Programs
Change My Mind: a live storytelling experience
This live storytelling experience is a space to reignite the beauty that is sharing and listening to our real stories. Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools that deeply shapes who we are and how we connect with one another, and provides a solution to the loneliness and distrust epidemic our country and communities are facing. Attendees hear live stories from a series of storytellers of diverse backgrounds about a true act of courage that changed them for the better, showcasing a new form of leadership - one based on personal and cultural wisdom that breaks down barriers between cultures and identities.
Attendees also experience intriguing ice breakers to meet new people, as well as gain tips on how to discover and use their own stories for connection and personal transformation.
Our brains are wired to focus on what is wrong, but this means we often miss the wisdom right in front of us about what is working, good, and new to find real solutions to our problems. This podcast features stories of courage too good to erase or ignore that will inspire you, including personal development tips, interviews of unconventional leaders, live stories from Change My Mind, where people tell true stories of courage live on stage. Hosted and produced by Christina Blacken, founder of The New Quo Foundation.
Tell it Proud podcast
Our storytelling workshops don't just inspire—they give people actionable tools to move through fear and self-doubt, lead with their values, and create meaningful change through the power of their stories.

Become a storytelling host or performer
Each Change My Mind event features 6 storytellers telling a true story of courage. We are always looking for new storytellers to feature in future shows. In addition, we are also looking for hosts to facilitate and organize their own Change My Mind events. Storytellers and hosts are paid a small honorarium for their time and energy. If you’d like to be considered for either, please fill out the form below. We’ll be in touch if there’s an opportunity!
